Uploading a Single Trail to the Map

Easily add a map to a new or existing trail by uploading an existing map file to your trail. We currently support .gpx, .kmz, .kml, .geojson, and compressed shape file formats. If you have an alternate file format email us at support@trailhub.org and we will look into it for you.


INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPLOADING A Single TRAIL TO THE MAP:

1.) Click the ‘Trails’ button in the top navigation bar.

 

2.) Click on an existing trail card then select ‘Edit Trail’ or click ‘+ New Trail’ if creating a new trail.
NOTE: If creating a ‘New Trail’ click here for detailed instructions to set-up the trail.

3.) To upload a map file to a trail card that is NOT currently mapped, skip to next step.
- OR -
To replace a trail that is already mapped, select the trail on the map and hit 'delete' on your keyboard or select the 'trash' icon located under the 'Line String Tool' on the right side of the map.
NOTE: Once deleted, your old trail will appear in gray until you add your new trail file and save. OR you can save then click back into edit mode if you prefer not to see the location of the old trail.

4.) Select the ‘Browse’ button, located toward the bottom above ‘save’, then select the map file you would like to upload from your computer, server or cloud location. It should instantly map your trail on the map. If it does not, please email us at support@trailhub.org, attached your file and we can troubleshoot the issue for you.

5.) If you would like to refine the points on your trail, use the ‘line string tool’ to make any adjustments by clicking on the blue trail line on the map. Once selected, the blue line will be converted to a series of orange dots indicating you are now in editing mode.

6.) Click ‘Save

7.) An elevation map and total trail distance will appear under the information for your trail, and the trail you just uploaded will show up in the map on the right.

8.) Total trail distance will also appear in the upper-right corner of the trail card within your ‘View Trails’ menu.
