Bulk Edit Trails

Easily make edits to apply to multiple trails on your trail list. This function will save you time when making the following updates to your trails:

  • Status

  • Difficulty

  • Activities

*NOTE: You can only update one function at a time across a group of trails. (Status, Difficulty or Activities)


Instructions for making bulk edits to trails:

1.) Click the ‘Trails’ button in the top navigation bar.

2.) Select the ‘Bulk Edit’ button in the top menu

3.) Select the trails you would like to apply edits to using one of the following methods:

  • Select one or more trails using the ‘Drop-Down’ trail list

  • Select all by hitting the ‘Select All’ button

  • Select trails by a particular ‘Activity’ or ‘Status

4.) If you would like to remove any trails that you selected from your edit trails list:

  • Simply click the ‘x’ next to the trail name and it will be removed from the list of trails you want to edit

  • OR If you would like to remove all the trails from your list and start over, select ‘Clear Selected Trails

5.) Next, select the ‘Value’ (Status, Difficulty or Activity) you would like to update within the drop-down menu under ‘Select Value to Update’ and make your edits.

*NOTE: You can only update one value at a time.

OVERALL TRAIL STATUS

Select ‘Status’ then select a ‘New Value’ of either OPEN, CLOSED or CAUTION.

*Note: If you set the trail status to CLOSED, it will automatically close all the activities within that trail when you save your update.

DIFFICULTY

Select ‘Difficulty’ then select a ‘New Value’ of either BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, EXPERT, EXPERT ONLY, TERRAIN PARK or NOT RATED.

ACTIVITIES

When updating activities across a group of trails you have the option to either 'Add', 'Remove', 'Update', or 'Override' one or more activities across a selected group of trails.

  • Add - Adds one or more activity values to the selected trails. If a selected trail already has an activity, the trail is skipped.

  • Remove - Removes one or more activities from the selected trails.

  • Update - Updates the activity status (open/closed/caution) for one or more activities if they exist on the selected trails.

  • Override - Completely deletes all activities on the selected trails and replaces them with new activities.

 

To update activities across a group of selected trails, select ‘Activity’ from the ‘Value’ drow-down menu. Next select 'Add', 'Remove', 'Update', or 'Override' under ‘New Value’ and follow the below steps:

  • Choose’ the activity (Hiking, Mountain Biking, Nordic Skiing, Etc.) you would like to 'Add', 'Remove', 'Update', or 'Override' from the drop-down menu and then select ‘Add Activity’.

  • Adjust the activity status to either Open, Caution or Closed.
    (Skip this step if you are simply removing the activity completely)

  • Repeat for each activity you would like to add, remove, update or override.

6.) Select ‘Edit Trail!’ to save your updates

7.) A warning will pop-up asking ‘Are you sure you want to edit all of these Trails?

  • Select ‘Yes’ to apply the edits to your trails

  • Select ‘No’ to cancel and make adjustments where needed
